PAKISTAN-PROVINCIAL OMBUDSMAN BALOCHISTAN Provincial Ombudsman Balochistan. Mr. Abdul Ghani Khilji alongwith his team visited the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat, Islamabad on 3-4th December, 2018 in order to observe complaint handling procedures, investigation and hearing cases:

Mr. Abdul Ghani Khilji, Provincial Ombudman Balochistan along his team visited the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat on 03-4th December, 2018 and met with senior officers of the Secretariat and shared the knowledge of complaint registration/complaint handling and investigation procedures. The provincial Ombudsman was also appraised on Complaint Management Information System of Wafaqi Mohtasib, appraisal and implementation procedures..

Current challenges on guarantying the rights of persons deprived of liberty were discussed during the extended session of the Advisory Council on the Prevention of Torture. Particularly, fundamental issues with regard to the new procedure of the early conditional release were dealt with, such as ensuring the right of access to court.

HONG KONG  Ms Connie Lau, Ombudsman of Hong Kong and AOA Secretary is retiring from her post of Ombudsman on 31th March, 2019:

As per press release of the Government of Hong Kong Ms. Connie Lau, Ombudsman of Hong Kong is retiring from her post of Ombudsman on 31th March, 2019 due to her personal reasons. The Government of Hong Kong and her colleagues of Asian Ombudsman Association(AOA) have put forth a tribute to her for  her services rendered as Ombudsman as well as the Secretary of AOA.  She conveyed her heartfelt thanks to all members of AOA for posing trust on her as Secretary AOA and honouring her with their appreciating remarks.
