Ombudsman Secretariat and UNICEF Sign Letter of Intent to Strengthen Child Protection System
Federal Ombudsman Secretariat and United Mations Children’s Fund(UNICEF) in a simple ceremony held at the Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman) Secretariat, Islamabad on 23 September, 2019, signed a Letter of Intent (LOI). Hon;ble Wafaqi Mohtasib Syed Tahir Shahbaz and Ms. Abida Girma, UNICEEF Representative in Pakistan signed the LOI on behalf of their respective institutions.

The LOI seeks to further strengthen thye ongoing partnership between the office of the National Commissioner for Children(NCC) working under the Federal Ombudsman’s Secretariat and the UNICEF.This partnership between WMS and UNICEF will address the specific right of a child to protect him from abuse and provision of other rights of survival and development. The National Children Commissioner Mr. Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi, Chief Child Protection UNICEF Micaela Pasini and Child Protection Specialist Ms. Farah Ilyas were also present on the occasion.
