ATTENDING NATIONAL WORKING MEETING OF INDONESIAN ANTI-CORRUPTION TROOPS, OMBUDSMAN INVITES COLLABORATION TO REDUCE MALADMINISTRATION
Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman, Mokhammad Najih was present as a resource person at the 15th National Work Meeting (Rakernas) of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Warriors (LAKI) in 2022 with the theme “Indonesia Rises Against Corruption” at the Pencak Silat Padepokan, East Jakarta, Wednesday (27 /7/2022).
The Indonesian Ombudsman in an effort to prevent corruption has recently collaborated with the Minister of SOEs and the Coordinating Ministry for SMEs to form a fishing cooperative so that the fishing community can be helped economically. In this case, the Ombudsman also hopes that LAKI as an organization that interacts directly with civil society can make the same effort as an effort to prevent maladministration and reduce corruption.
“LAKI need to make empowerment programs, for example in the form of cooperatives to reduce the economic access of people who depend and are entangled in credit / moneylenders so that corruption can continue to be reduced,” said Najih.
Najih also explained that the Indonesian Ombudsman in his experience showed that corruption is caused by maladministration, every corruption there must be maladministration. Based on data on handling corruption published by the KPK every year, it has increased. In line with this, during its formation until 2020, the Indonesian Ombudsman has received as many as 15,000 complaints and this has increased in 2021 to 18,000 complaints.
