PAKISTAN PRESIDENT ADMINISTERS OATH TO WAFAQI MOHTASIB.Islamabad: 4 March 2026 — President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath of office to Mr. Naveed Kamran Baloch as the 9th Wafaqi Mohtasib (Federal Ombudsman) of Pakistan at a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr. Mr Baloch will hold office for a four-year term. Mr. Naveed Kamran Baloch has held various executive positions, including Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federal Secretary, and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Sindh, bringing extensive experience in administrative and executive affairs. |

OMBUDSMAN PUNJAB (PAKISTAN) STATE LAND WORTH RS. 55.7 MILLION RETRIEVED FROM ILLEGAL OCCUPATION.Office of the Ombudsman Punjab successfully retrieved 2250 Kanals of state-owned land from illegal occupants. With an estimated market value exceeding Rs. 55.7 million, the recovered land belonged to various government departments. |

TATARSTAN A MEETING WAS HELD ON WORKING WITH CITIZEN NOTIFICATIONS IN THE SIS RT “PUBLIC CONTROL”.The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Tatarstan held a working meeting with responsible officials of the Kazan Executive Committee on the handling of citizen notifications received through the SIS RT “Public Control.” During the meeting, the most common complaints submitted by city residents through the system were examined in detail. In total, approximately 40 examples of citizen notifications were reviewed. |

AZERBAIJAN THE OMBUDSMAN SPOKE BEFORE THE PARLIAMENT ON THE 2025 ANNUAL REPORT.Prior to the address, the Ombudsman and staff members of the Office visited the grave of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, paying deep respects to his memory. They also honored the cherished memory of Zarifa Aliyeva, the distinguished ophthalmologist and academician at the Alley of Honor. Subsequently, the Alley of Martyrs was visited to pay tribute to the memory of the martyrs who had fallen their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country with deep respect. Later, in an interview with media representatives, Sabina Aliyeva briefed about the key issues to be addressed during the presentation of the annual report to the Parliament. |

REPUBLIC OF KOREA ANALYSIS OF 560,000 CIVIL COMPLAINT CASES PROPOSES POLICY IMPROVEMENT DIRECTIONS FOR HANDLING LOW BIRTH RATE ISSUE.The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) announced the results of the collaborative project with the POSTECH Institute for Social Data Science titled “Research on Policy Demand Analysis and Improvement Measures Based on Public Complaints on the Low Birth Rates” on Feb. 3.The Commission has pursued collaborative projects with the Institute after signing an MOU in 2020, by focusing on addressing social issues through analysis and utilization of big data on public complaints, research on data analysis techniques, and information exchange. |

MACAO CCAC UNVEILS A CASE OF FAMILY SUBSIDY FRAUD BY PUBLIC SERVANT.The CCAC received a report, claiming that a light vehicle driver of the Office of the President of the Court of Final Appeal allegedly gave false information to defraud family subsidy. Upon investigation, the CCAC found that the driver involved in the case, who had been living with his wife, father-in-law and mother-in-law together for many years, knew full well that his father-in-law had a full-time job and received stable income every month and that his father-in-law and mother-in-law had all along been receiving old-age pension, with the duo’s total annual revenue exceeding the maximum limit for applying for the family subsidy on a per-capita basis. |

OMBUDSMAN SINDH (PAKISTAN) JOINT INITIATIVE OF OMBUDSMAN SINDH AND TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL ON ANTI-CORRUPTION, GOOD GOVERNANCE & COMPLAINT REDRESSAL.A capacity-building workshop on anti-corruption, good governance, and effective complaint redressal mechanisms was jointly organized by the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh and Transparency International Pakistan in Karachi. The workshop was graced by Mohammad Sohail Rajput, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh; Justice R. Zia Pervez, Chairman Transparency International Pakistan; and François Valérian, Chair Transparency International, as special guests. Addressing the participants, the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh highlighted a significant increase in public complaint registrations achieved through sustained awareness initiatives, including print and electronic media, social media outreach, open courts, seminars, workshops, and ambassador programs. |

GEORGIA PUBLIC DEFENDER APPEALS TO PARLIAMENT SPEAKER TO ENSURE PRISONERS’ COMMUNICATION WITH THEIR CHILDREN.On March 11, 2026, the Public Defender of Georgia addressed the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia with a legislative proposal on ensuring communication between imprisoned persons and their children. In the interests of justice, the legislation provides for the possibility of the investigator/prosecutor restricting the accused person’s communication with the outside world (meetings, telephone conversations, and correspondence). |
