Jalilabad, Ganja and Guba regional offices of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan held online legal awareness-raising events on domestic violence and early marriages. The events were attended by the representatives of respective local authorities, civil society organizations and active youth.
During the events causes and the legal, psychological and health consequences of early marriages, solutions to end the domestic violence, the importance of education in this regard were discussed. It was noted that the “National Action Plan to Combat Domestic Violence in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020-2023” approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 27, 2020, is of high importance forpreventing domestic violence in the country.
