The Hon’ble Federal Ombudsman, Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi has emphasized upon his Investigating Officers of Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat to intensify their efforts to provide maximum relief to complainants. He directed his officers to ensure transparency, fair play and quick disposal of their work.

HONG KONG – CHINA   Office of The Ombudsman announces results of direct investigation into Government’s regulation of boarding facilities for foreign domestic helpers

The Ombudsman, Ms Winnie Chiu, announced the completion of a direct investigation into the Government’s regulation of boarding facilities for foreign domestic helpers (FDHs) and made ten recommendations to the Labour Department (LD), the Home Affairs Department (HAD) and the Immigration Department (ImmD).

THAILAND   Solving problems during the pandemic of Covid-19 in 2020

The Chief Ombudsman of Thailand received several complaints related to preventive or support strategies for those affected by COVID-19 pandemic. The main focus was on solving problems including relief measure under “No one is left behind” scheme, assistance from the Telecommunication Sector to support people working from home during the pandemic, and the shortage of medical equipment.

REPUBLIC OF TATARSTAN  The report of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Tatarstan was presented to deputies at the meeting of the State Council

At the meeting of the State Council, the deputies were presented with the Report of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan. It included proposals for executive authorities and local self-government within the framework of the work of territorial interdepartmental commissions to improve living standards and legalize incomes.

PUBLIC DEFENDER (OMBUDSMAN) OF GEORGIA    Public Defender Meets with IDPs Living in Kartli Sanatorium

On January 17, 2022, the Public Defender of Georgia met with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) living in Kartli sanatorium and listened to their problems. The Public Defender’s Office has been studying IDP issues for a long time and has issued a number of recommendations to improve their rights situation.
