PAKISTAN One Window Facilitation Desk (OWFD) starts functioning at Quetta Airport on Ombudsman DirectionOn the directions of the Federal Ombudsman Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, One Window Facilitation Desk has started functioning at the Quetta International Airport. The Federal Ombudsman has also designated a senior officer as the Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis (GCOP) who undertakes prompt action on the complaints of Overseas Pakistanis. During first six months of this year, 66746 complaints of Overseas Pakistanis were resolved by GCOP.On the directions of the Federal Ombudsman, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has nominated a senior officer as a focal person and established a fund to resolve the grievances of Overseas Pakistanis abroad. |

MACAU – CHINA Publication of Annual Report of the Commission Against Corruption of Macau 2021The CCAC released the Annual Report of the Commission Against Corruption of Macau 2021 in accordance with the law. The report summarises the CCAC’s works in the areas of corruption fighting, ombudsmanship, promotion and education and external exchange. Meanwhile, it also features summaries of some cases in the areas of anti-corruption and ombudsmanship in order to enable the public to better understand the CCAC’s duties and the effectiveness of its works. |

AZERBAIJAN National Preventive Group of the Ombudsman conducted visit to Social Care FacilityMembers of the Ombudsman’s National Preventive Group (NPG) conducted a visit to the Social Care Facility No.1 for Children with Limited Health Capacities of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.During the visit, all the area of the facility, including its dormitory, kitchen, canteen, rehabilitation and medical rooms were inspected, and the existing situation of arranging social care was monitored.The administration and staff of the facility, as well as the psychologist, social worker and other specialists were interviewed in order to investigate the treatment issues. |

PAKISTAN Federal Ombudsman approves action plan for Street Children of Islamabad.A Task Force on Street Children approved by Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat presented its study report to the Federal Ombudsman for implementation. Taking cognizance of the exploitation of children in terms of their involvement in labour / beggary, the Hon’ble Federal Ombudsman, Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi had directed a study titled “Inquiry into the Plight of Street Children in ICT – Challenges & Way Forward.The research sets out priorities and gives evidence-based recommendations to the key stakeholders. The research was conducted by Syeda Viquar un Nisa Hashmi, Advisor / Grievance Commissioner for Children and her team. |

TATARSTAN Ombudsman of Tatarstan Saria Saburskaya held a meeting with responsible executors in the SIS RT “Public Control”The Ombudsman of Tatarstan Sariya Saburskaya visited Verkhneuslonsky district, where she held a working meeting with the heads of Apastovsky, Buinsky, Verkhneuslonsky, Drozhzhanovsky, Kaybitsky, Kamsko-Ustyinsky and Tetyushsky districts and responsible executors in the SIS RT “Public Control”.The discussed issues concerned to the improvement of yard areas, the construction of roads and the organization of traffic. During meeting, the special attention was paid to notifications that had not been resolved for a long time. |

AZERBAIJAN The Head of the Ombudsman office delivered a Speech at a Conference held in ZangilanA conference on “Great Return to the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan: violated rights and their restoration” was hosted in Aghali village of Zangilan district, which is the first liberated region where our internally displaced persons (IDPs) were resettled. The high-level conference was organized by the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan and brought together the representatives of state bodies, delegations of international organizations to Azerbaijan, and non-governmental organizations. |

MACAU – CHINA Enriching the online education resources on the webpage “Database of Education on Integrity”The CCAC continued to update the webpage “Database of Education on Integrity”. A brand new cartoon story entitled “The Space Shuttle That Comes Late” was uploaded tothe “Children’s Integrity Story Corner”on the webpage together with various game cards in order to share with children the influence of being responsible on themselves, their friends and the society. In addition, the CCAC also compiled and uploaded some of the award-winning works of the “Integrity Lesson Plan Design Collection Activity 2022” to the “Database of Education on Integrity” with a view to proactively enrich online education resources for teachers and parents. |
