Help to persons in need

On November 8, the reception of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan received a call from which we learned the story of Alexander Kostenko, who was forced to live in garbage cans.
“When clarifying the circumstances of this situation, the problem of this citizen will be taken under the control of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan in order to assist in documents restoration as well as other assistance,” said Sariya Saburskaya.
The priority tasks were to provide a place for temporary stay and food, as well as checking the presence or absence of diseases that are dangerous to others. The very next day, in accordance with the agreement of the Authorized Person and the management of the Republican Clinical Dispensary of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, Alexander was admitted to a medical institution where he undergoes necessary examinations before contacting one of the social adaptation centers to receive assistance.
In addition, since August this year, the autonomous non-profit organization “Center for Rehabilitation and Adaptation”, together with the Ombudsman for the Republic of Tatarstan and the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan, has been implementing a social project to provide free assistance to those in need.
