JAKARTA – Chairman of the RI Ombudsman Prof. Amzulian Rifai delivered the Final Examination Report (LAHP) related to public complaints in the environmental and forestry sectors. The report was received directly by the Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK) Siti Nurbaya Bakar at the RI Ombudsman Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (16/10).
The submission of the LAHP to the Minister of LHK was opened directly by the Chair of the RI Ombudsman Prof. Amzulian Rifai accompanied by Member Dr. Laode Ida as the Supervisor of the V Substance Team in the field of Natural Resources. In his remarks, Amzulian said LAHP was part of the settlement of community reports that found maladministration.
“The duty of the Indonesian Ombudsman to follow up on community reports, if in the follow-up we did, there was found maladministration, a form of corrective action contained in the LAHP,” Amzulian said.
Laode Ida accompanied by the Head of Substance V Assistant, Tumpal Simanjuntak, SH, said, LAHP, the Indonesian Ombudsman handed over to the Minister of LHK related to three community reports handled by Substance V Team. He explained that his party had conducted a series of checks and follow-up solutions.
“As a whole, it is stated in the LAHP. This corrective action is a form of certainty of service from the Government to the Community,” Laode concluded.
Meanwhile the Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK) Siti Nurbaya Bakar strongly supports the position of the Indonesian Ombudsman. He claimed to be involved in the formation of Law Number 37 of 2008 concerning the Republic of Indonesia Ombudsman and Law Number 25 of 2009 concerning Public Services.
“I feel that the Indonesian Ombudsman is accompanying the government to achieve accountability,” said Siti Nurbaya in Abdurrahman Wahid’s room at the Indonesian Ombudsman Building.
Regarding the corrective actions that the Indonesian Ombudsman conveyed, Siti Nurbaya said that his party would follow up. He also said that there were quite a number of forestry problems in the regions after the authority shifted from Regency / City to Province as stipulated in Law 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government.
“Corrective actions that the RI Ombudsman conveyed are in line with the direction of the President at every opportunity of the meeting,” he said. (Irsan Hidayat)
