In his inaugural address to members of IOI  Mr. Werner Amon after his new appointed as Secretary General of the International Ombudsman Institute(IOI), said “He follows former IOI Secretary General Günther Kräuter who has managed the IOI for the last six years with full dedication and commitment. Mr. Kräuter was instrumental in the development of new and successful training formats and helped further raise the awareness of the IOI in the international community. We are glad that he agreed to stay on as IOI consultant until the 12th IOI World Conference in May 2020.We would like to thank Günther Kräuter for his immense contribution and hard work over the past years and warmly welcome his successor to the IOI family.”

HONG KONG-SAR CHINA  Ombudsman of Hong Kong presented 2018-19 Annual Report to the public

The Hong Kong Ombudsman, Ms Winnie Chiu, presented to the public today (25 July) the 2018-19 Annual Report of the Office of The Ombudsman. The Office of The Ombudsman (the Office) received 4,991 complaints in 2018-19, slightly higher than the previous year’s figure. Among the complaints received, 205 were concluded by way of full investigation, of which 58 (28.3%) were substantiated or partially substantiated, similar to previous year’s figure of 26.2%.

Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Police department clear service dues of the retired senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) ont the orders of Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik, Ombudsman Sindh.

Mr. Abdul Sattar Detho, a retired Superintendent of Sindh Police approached the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik with the complaint that he retired from government service more than thirteen years ago but still his G.P. Fund was outstanding against the Department and the department was delaying the matter on flimsy grounds. Consequently he was facing great financial hardship.

PAKISTAN Ombudsman Directs to Set Up E-Pension System. E-Pension System Should Also Be Replicated in Provinces

Syed Tahir Shahbaz, the Federal Ombudsman, has directed the Controller General of Accounts and AGPR to set up an E-Pension System at an early date and connect all federal government departments with it. He also directed the representatives of ministries and departments to initiate pension cases 15 months prior to the date of superannuation of an employee. He chaired a high level meeting to simplify the pension system through automation in the federal government departments.
